Tripura Budget Session from March 1; Advisory Committee holds meeting

Crucial Budget Session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, before the Lok Sabha Polls, will commence on March 01. The session will span over five days, with a recess slated for the weekend.

The commencement of the session was confirmed following a key meeting of the Business Advisory Committee, presided over by Assembly Speaker Biswas Bandhu Sen. 

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath and Minister Sushanta Chowdhury attended the today's meeting.

In a press briefing, Ratan Lal Nath said the schedule has been expedited owing to the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

"The assembly will convene for a session that is both concise and substantial, reflecting our commitment to the state's progress even as we approach the elections," he stated.

The session is expected to kick off with a comprehensive budget presentation by Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy.

The agenda also includes discussions on additional budgetary allocations and the introduction of the Tripura Public Demand Recovery Act Amendment Bill.

A question hour is scheduled to facilitate legislative oversight and transparency.

The government has emphasized that the budget will be reflective of its dedication to public welfare, with a focus on development-oriented initiatives. 

"Our aim is to present a budget that not only addresses the immediate needs of our citizens but also lays down a robust framework for the state's future growth," sources said.

As the assembly gears up for the crucial 'LS Poll Year' Budget session, eyes are focused on the strategic financial roadmap that the Budget will unveil for the year ahead.
