Tripura News: Assam Rifles Public School Clinch sadar inter-school girl's Cricket Championship Title

In a thrilling final of the Sadar sub division Girl's T20 cricket Assam Rifles Public School emerged triumphant defeating last year's winners Pranabananda Vidyamandir by a convincing margin of 39 runs.

The championship match, held at the Police Training Academy ground on Saturday, saw Assam Rifles Public School, coached by the dynamic duo of Raju Lama and Rima Chakraborty, etch their name on the trophy.

The innings belonged to opener Antara Muhuri, who displayed exceptional composure at the crease, anchoring the innings with an unbeaten knock of 36 runs off 69 balls.

Her knock was laced with three boundaries, providing much-needed stability to the Assam Rifles batting line-up. Valuable contributions also came from Anushka Tadu (23 runs off 33 balls with 4 boundaries) and Susmita Basak (15 runs off 23 balls).

Pranabananda Vidyamandir's bowlers' efforts were hampered by a significant number of extras (52 runs) conceded, which ultimately proved one of the reasons of their defeat.

The star of the show for Assam Rifles Public School was undoubtedly Antara Muhuri. Not only did she contribute significantly with the bat, but she also displayed her prowess with the ball in hand. Bowling with impressive accuracy, she scalped two crucial wickets, derailing Pranabananda Vidyamandir's chase.

Chasing a modest target of 128 runs, Pranabananda Vidyamandir's batting line-up faltered under pressure. The Assam Rifles Public School bowlers, maintained a tight bowling line and length, restricting the opposition's scoring opportunities. While Abhidha Bardhan (28 runs off 45 balls with 2 boundaries and 1 six) and Abhigyan Bardhan (17 runs off 23 balls with 2 boundaries) showed some resistance, the lack of partnerships proved costly for Pranabananda Vidyamandir.

The Assam Rifles Public School bowling attack, proved too much to handle for the Pranabananda Vidyamandir batsmen. Raj Laxmi, Antara Muhuri, and Christina Rema claimed two wickets each, effectively dismantling the opposition's batting order. Pranabananda Vidyamandir were eventually bowled out for a meagre 88 runs, handing Assam Rifles Public School a well-deserved victory.

Assam Rifles Public School cricketers and coaches celebrated the victory.
