Tripura News: Dhammadipa International Buddhist University Admission for 2024-25 Begins
Dhammadipa International Buddhist University (DIBU) in Sabroom under the South Tripura District has begun accepting applications for admission for the academic year 2024-25. The university is likely to commence classes in August 2024. As of June 30, total 300 students have enrolled in various departments. It is expected that around 1500 students will be admitted to different departments before August.
Admission Open for All Departments Except MBBS and BDS
According to vice chancellor of the Dhammadipa International Buddhist University (DIBU), Prof. MP Narasimha Raju, admission is open for all departments except MBBS and BDS at DIBU this year. Admission is ongoing for Diploma, BA, MA, and PhD in all subjects. However, admission to Nursing, Pharmacy, Paramedical, and LLB may not be possible this year due to the lack of a green signal from the government.

Officials from the concerned department are visiting for inspection. A decision on admission to these subjects will be taken after their inspection.

Aiming to be an International Standard University
The university is working to establish itself as an international standard university where students from all over the world will come to study. Despite being a Buddhist university, students of all religions and castes will have the opportunity to study independently at this university. In addition, training will be provided in yoga and spirituality for the life and character formation of the students of this university.
Focus on Life Skills and Technical Training
The main objective of the Dhamadhipa International Buddhist University (DIBU) is to make the students life-oriented and strengthen their economic base through technical training. Talks are underway with JCB Company, Mahindra Company, and Ashok Leyland Company to start industrial subject courses. JCB Company has already visited and will introduce a joint certificate course on industry. Talks are on with other companies. Students will be able to do both work and study here.
University Established in 2022
Dhammadipa International Buddhist University is a university approved by the Tripura government and UGC on November 18, 2022. The university has started work on 25 acres of land in Sabroom town and 30 acres of land in Manu Bonkul. The first session of the university has already started in Manu Bonkul. The construction of the main building of Dhamadhipa Buddha University in Sabrum Jalafa will start in October next year. The authorities said that the second phase of the university in Sabroom may be inaugurated next year.
Meeting with Sabroom Intellectuals
A meeting of a representative delegation of Sabroom intellectuals with the university authorities was held today. The meeting mainly requested the committee to address any problems related to student admission and any important suggestions for the development of the university.
