Tripura: Tipra Motha wants to safeguard interests of indigenous people without snatching rights of other people

Tipra Motha wants to safeguard the interests of the indigenous people without snatching away the rights of other communities. TIpra Motha also welcomes support from all parties - not just Congress but also from CPM, Trinamool and BJP too, Pradyot Kishore said reacting to a question relating to Congress party's reported tactical support for Tipra Motha candidate in by-polls in 46-Surma (SC) Assembly seat.

Tipra-Motha-Pradyot-Kishore-debbarma-TripuraThe decision to field a candidate for by-polls in Surma which is reserved for SC, reflected that irrespective of communities and religion, Tipra Motha is working for the betterment of the people of the State, said supremo of Tipra Motha Pradyut Kishore Debbarma said while addressing a press meet in Agartala on Sunday.

“We have decided to nominate Baburam Satnami, one of the terminated 10323 teachers from Surma (SC) Assembly seat to ensure that the voice of the sacked teachers could be raised in the Assembly”, Debbarma said.

He continued and said, Tipra Motha is an expanding party while other parties are shrinking – so Tipra Motha is increasing its aspiration contest in a maximum number of seats possible in upcoming Assembly Polls. Debbarma exuded confidence that Baburam Satnam would win and make history for a regional party.

Condemning the poll-related violence and alleged malpractices, Debbarma said Tipra Motha never endorsed the violence and menace of the bike squad. He hoped that incumbent Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha would be able to reign in the repetition of such unwanted situations in upcoming by-polls.

“Any violence or rigging would attract the attention of the National media – and this would picture a very bad image of our State. I urged the administration including the Election Commission and Police to maintain law and order during and after the by-polls.

He also announced a breakaway faction of Congress, TDF and Tripura Banchito Janata Brigade (TBJB) decided to support Tipra Motha and would campaign for the party nominated candidate in Surma.
