Two-day long 'Destination Tripura: The Business Conclave 2025' starts in Agartala

The Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Tripura, inaugurated the two-day business summit, "Destination Tripura: The Business Conclave 2025 on Friday. 

Held at Hotel Polo Towers in Agartala, the event provided a strategic platform for policymakers, industry leaders, and investors to collaborate, network, and explore investment opportunities in the state.

The event witnessed the participation of Jitendra Kumar Sinha, Chief Secretary of Tripura; Kiran Gitte, IAS, Secretary of Industries & Commerce; and Vishwasree B., Director of Industries & Commerce, among other key government officials.  

Sector specific sessions & B2G

Sectoral sessions formed the cornerstone of the conclave, where industry experts outlined the investment-friendly policies and incentives offered by the Tripura government. 

These sessions were followed by Business-to-Government (B2G) meetings, allowing investors to engage in direct discussions with policymakers to better understand the state’s business ecosystem and explore potential collaborations.  

Focus on Infrastructure, Services, and Emerging Sectors  

The event commenced with a welcome speech by Vishwasree B., Director of Industries and Commerce, who provided a comprehensive overview of Tripura's infrastructural growth and recent policy reforms aimed at fostering a business-friendly environment.  

A key focus of the conclave was the services sector, attracting investors from major industries such as Information Technology, Education & Skill Development, Healthcare, and Tourism. Traditional sectors, including Rubber, Agar, and Food Processing, also saw strong representation.

Addressing the gathering, Kiran Gitte, IAS, Secretary of Industries & Commerce, urged investors to explore Tripura’s untapped potential across various sectors. He emphasized the availability of skilled human resources, opportunities for public-private partnerships in healthcare, and the development of infrastructure in key tourist destinations.

Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha highlighted Tripura’s remarkable progress in recent years, positioning it as a frontrunner in the Sustainable Development Index among Northeastern states. He underscored the state’s strategic geographical location, abundant natural resources, and cultural richness as key advantages for investors.  

Investment Commitments Worth ₹3,000 Crore  

The conclave attracted participation from 150 investors, with discussions underway to finalize Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and Letters of Intent (LoIs) amounting to ₹3,000 crore across various sectors.  

Notable investors at the event included:  
- Godrej Agrovet Ltd. (Sougata Niyogi)  
- Crane Global Solutions (Ragav Ram)  
- GNRC (Dr. Ashish Malakar)  

According to sources, Destination Tripura: The Business Conclave 2025 is expected to provide a boost to state's economy.
