Union Home Minister Amit Shah to hit campaign trails in Tripura on Jan 5
Let January come, Tripura is all set to witness high voltage poll campaign as top leaders of different Political parties are scheduled to descend and hit campaign trails in Tripura for the 2023 Assembly Polls. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to arrive in Tripura on January 5 next to start campaign blitz for the saffron party.
This time, BJP will bring additional colour in campaign by conducting ‘Rath Yatra’ covering all the 60 Assembly seats in Tripura. Two Raths will be flagged off from two ends of the State – the South and North.
Amit Shah is expected to flag off both the Rath. On earlier elections, such Rath Yatra was not organized as part of the campaign. However, the ruling party has made an elaborate planning and three-member committee was formed to make the campaign successful.
Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) Minister Sushanta Chowdhury is the in-charge of the Committee while two general secretaries of the State BJP Tinku Roy and Amit Rakshit are co-in-charge.
This committee will make necessary arrangements and planning for the Rath Yatra from two ends of the State. Both Raths will converge to Agartala after covering all of the 60 constituencies.
Tinku Roy along with MLA Pramod Reang, Bibhisan Das and Tapas Majumder will look after the Rath Yatra that will start from South Tripura while Amit Rakshit along with Tapas Bhattacharjee, Shambhulal Chakma and Jadablal Nath will take care of the Rath Yatra in North Tripura.
According to party sources, Amit Shah will flag off the Rath from Sabroom in the South District. He will also address a public rally there. The ICA Minister visited the venue of the flag off and public rally of Shah and inspected preparedness.
After Shah, All India BJP president JP Nadda is scheduled to visit Tripura on Swami Vivekananda’s birth Anniversary on January 12 next. BJP activists and supporters in Tripura are looking forward to impending campaign blitz to be unleashed by Shah and Nadda to bolster party’s chance to return to power in Tripura for the second time.
