December 27, 2017: In Gujarat, Bhartiya Janata Party formed its government sixth time in a row today in Gandhinagar. Vijay Rupani was sworn-in as the chief minister of the state for the second consecutive term today.
Along with him, 19 other ministers including Deputy CM Nitin Patel, eight Cabinet ministers and ten Ministers of State also took the oath of office.
Governor OP Kohli administered the oath of office and secrecy to them at the Sachivalay Ground in Gandhinagar.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National president Amit Shah, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh and Chief Ministers of various BJP and NDA ruled states also attended the ceremony.
Among the cabinet ministers, four ministers from previous Vijay Rupani government namely Bhupendrsinh Chudasama, Dilip Thakor, Jayesh Radadiya and Ganapat Vasava have been included in the cabinet. Besides, two former Ministers Kaushik Patel and Saurabh Patel have also been selected in the cabinet.
Ishwarbhai Parmar is the new face in cabinet. Among the ten ministers of states, Pradipsinh Jadeja, Bachubhai Khabbad, Vasanbhai Ahir, Jayadrathsinhji Parmar, Parshottam Solanki are former ministers. While three-time MLA from Bhavnagar east, Smt Vibhavariben Dave is the only women in the Rupani government. Along with Dave, Kishor Kanani and Ramanlal Patkar are new faces in the government.
