December 14, 2017: Adding salt to wounds of common people, food and fuel prices kept on soaring high during last November pushing Wholesale Price Index up to 8-month high. According to data from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, among the notable food items, prices of wheat and potato plummeted while onion and vegetable prices shoot up exuberantly.
After demonetization and GST implementation, Indian markets are in vulnerable condition and high WPI is likely to create additional pressure on people belonging to middle and low income groups.
