Suspense over Government formation in Karnataka ends; BS Yeddyurappa called to form Govt in the state; Will take oath on Thursday morning; BJP is single largest party.
The suspense over government formation in Karnataka is over. After considering all options and counter claims Governor Vasubhai Vala has invited the BS Yeddyurappa to take oath of the Chief Minister’s post on Thursday.
The BJP leader will take oath at 9 am on Thursday in Rajbhawan.
The BJP has emerged as the biggest party with 104 elected legislators in the recently concluded elections.
The JD(S) and Congress cobbled a post electoral alliance after the numbers were out and staked claim to form a government with support of 116 legislators. But the governor has gone by the convention of inviting the single largest party to form the government.
Launching a scathing attack on Congress, Senior BJP Leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the party that blew up the constitution to shambles and imposed President’s rule the most number of times is giving lessons to BJP. (DD News)
