In a letter to the Chief Minister Biplab Deb, ex-CLP leader of Congress Gopal Roy urged the Government to initiate actions to protect the jobs of the terminated teachers.

Referring to pre-poll assurances and ‘Vision Document’ of BJP, Gopla Roy alleged, the State Government is not serious about protecting the jobs of these teachers.

On SLP filed by the State government, Roy said, the outcome of next hearing is uncertain and even if the extension is granted, situation after extension period is over remains uncertain. Under prevailing condition, he suggested to proclaim a ‘Validation Ordinance’ to save the jobs. In support of his suggestion, he also mentioned about other cases where ‘Validation Act’ were passed.

Roy also suggested the Chief Minister to overhaul the law department. He urged the Government to consult expert
legal personalities and take decisive steps to protect jobs of the terminated teachers.

progress in the investigation of Lohari Debbarma suicide case even after 20 days had elapsed. State president of
NSUI, Rakesh Das said, police have failed to arrest accused persons so far.

Leaders have reiterated demand for CBI inquiry. NSUI leaders also thrashed ruling BJP-led Government on multiple issues and said NSUI will submit a memorandum to the Governor on June 20. Leaders also said, a blood donation camp at Congress Bhavan will be held on June 19 to mark the birth anniversary of Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
