Agartala, June 01, 2019: In a guarded response, outgoing Health Minister of Tripura Sudip Roy Barman who had been dropped from the Council of Ministers of BJP-IPFT government on late Friday night last, asserted he would continue to work for the people and strengthening BJP in the State as per the Party instructions.
In a video statement Roy Barman said, he came to know about his exclusion from the cabinet via social and electronics media outlets last night. Reacting on his ouster from the State Cabinet, he said, “I, perhaps, failed to live up to the expectation of the Chief Minister as a Minister of Health and other portfolios – May be I failed to satisfy the Chief Minister. Nevertheless, I sincerely and honestly tried my best to deliver”. He further said, “It is the Chief Minister’s prerogative as to who he should include or drop in the Council of Ministers”.
Showing restraint while reacting on his exclusion, Roy Barman did not blame anyone or did not touch upon his alleged strained relations with the Chief Minister. He also did not talk about his alleged involvement in ‘anti-party’ activities. Roy Barman said that he would continue to serve the Party.
When asked about his future course of actions, Roy Barman clearly said that he would work for the people as well as work for strengthening the saffron party. Urging his well wishers to remain calm and have faith, he said, time never remains same for any one.
Sudip Roy Barman’s ouster from the State Cabinet continued to be widely discussed, but not fiercely debated. Meanwhile, close on the heels of removal of Sudip Roy Barman, State Government relieved incumbent Health Secretary and assigned additional charges of Health Secretary to Dr Debashish Basu.
