December 23, 2018: In Indonesia, the death toll from a volcano-triggered tsunami has risen to 222, with more than 800 people injured.
Indonesia’s national disaster agency spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said, the death toll is likely to increase. He said, 28 people were reported missing.
The deaths were reported mainly from Padenglang Regency, South Lampung and Serang, all less than 150 kilometers from Jakarta.
The authorities said, the possible cause of the tsunami was undersea landslides following the eruption of the Krakatoa volcano. (AIR News)
