December 30, 2018: Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, in presence of Union MSME MoS Giriraj Singh, dedicated newly constructed Tool Room and Training Centre (TRTC) at R K Nagar to nation on Saturday. The Chief Minister said, the Centre will help the ITI student to get practical trainings. This training facility will pave way for setting up MSME units by students to become self-reliant.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Giriraj Singh outlined Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision relating to development and welfare. He stressed on, industrial growth along with agro based development. Strongly pitching for agro-based industries, Singh commented, earlier people had talked about ‘manufacturing technology’, however, Modi-led Government is stressing on development of agro-based industries through MSME.
“Agro based development with strategies for industrial growth is imperative for strengthening economic base of the country. Following this principal, Central Government will focus on agro-based industries in Tripura”, Singh said.
Talking about rubber cultivation and bamboo based industries in the State, the Union Minister said, Tripura occupies second position in Rubber production and quality bamboo is available in adequate quantity. “The Union Government has extended co-operation to the State Government for creating better earning opportunities in these two agro-based sectors – rubber and bamboo”.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also stressed on twin development – development in MSME as well as development in agri-and allied sectors for the welfare of farmers. Referring to paddy procurement from State farmers at MSP, the Chief Minister reiterated his Government’s commitment for welfare of the farmers. He said, “The State Government is working tirelessly for industrial progress and welfare of farmers. However, previous Government did not initiate any action for welfare of farming communities in the State”.
Shifting focus from Government’s policy on agri-sector, Deb highlighted Government’s plan to generate employment opportunity through MSME. Referring to the Tool Room and Training Centre, he said, the Centre will provide opportunities to youths to get trainings on modern technology and by availing the opportunity, youths will be successful in ushering new dawn for the State.
“Flourishing MSME entrepreneurship is one of the priorities of the State Government and accordingly, already 820 applications for new entrepreneurship have been registered. This will help around 4 thousand youths will be benefited”, Deb said.
