Agartala, Jun 10, 2019: The State Government of Tripura appointed on Monday senior IAS officer Usurupati Venkateswarlu as the new Chief Secretary of the State.
Official sources said, U Venkateswarlu -a 1986 batch Tripura-Manipur cadre IAS officer – has been appointed as Chief Secretary to the Government of Tripura. He will hold charges of General Administration (Confidential & Cabinet) and Planning, including Statistics. U Venkateswarlu will also hold the charge of Chairman of Executive Committee of Tripura Skill Development Mission.
Meanwhile, TK Chakma Secretary, Govt of Tripura, GA(SA) and GA (Political) Departments will also hold additional charge of Secretary to Governor, Tripura – Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki.
Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar, IAS will continue to hold the charges of Power, Finance and Forest Departments. Also, Kumar Alok, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary will continue to hold the charges of Home (excluding Jail & Fire Service) and G.A (P&T) Departments along with additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister.
