TBSE announced the 2025 Madhyamik and Higher Secondary results. Girls outshined boys once again, with 86.53% and 79.29% pass rates respectively. Full district and gender-wise analysis included.

Agartala April 30: The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) officially declared the results of the 2025 Madhyamik (Class 10) and Higher Secondary (Class 12) examinations on Wednesday in Agartala.

Announcing the results during a press conference, TBSE President Dr. Dhananjay Gan Chowdhury informed that the overall pass percentage for Madhyamik this year stands at 86.53 percent, while the Higher Secondary examination recorded a pass rate of 79.29 percent.

According to the TBSE, a total of 29,670 students appeared in the Madhyamik examination, including 13,861 boys and 15,809 girls. This number is a decline from last year’s figure of 33,739 candidates. Among those who appeared, 11,895 boys and 13,778 girls successfully passed the exam, indicating that girls once again outperformed boys in the results.

Among the 1,019 schools that took part in the Madhyamik examination, 345 institutions achieved a 100 percent pass rate. Notably, there was not a single school with zero successful candidates.

In district-wise performance for Madhyamik, South Tripura secured the highest pass percentage at 92.69 percent. Gomati district followed closely with a pass rate of 90.42 percent, while Sepahijala district came third with 89.93 percent. On the sub-divisional level, Jampuijala stood out with a top pass percentage of 97.99 percent, while Karbook and Belonia followed with 96.72 percent and 95.17 percent respectively.

Turning to the Higher Secondary examination, a total of 21,506 students appeared this year, comprising 9,920 boys and 11,586 girls. No students were reported under the ‘Third Gender’ category in 2025. Among the successful candidates, 7,564 were male and 9,488 were female, once again reflecting a stronger performance by girls.

In terms of school performance, 39 schools recorded a full 100 percent pass rate in the Higher Secondary exams. However, three schools saw no students clearing the examination.

Looking at district-wise results for Higher Secondary, Sepahijala district led with a pass percentage of 87.98, where 2,520 out of 2,884 students cleared the exam. South Tripura came next with 82.47 percent, as 2,715 out of 3,292 students passed. West Tripura ranked third with a pass rate of 82.20 percent, with 4,337 students passing out of 5,276 who appeared.

A significant decline was also observed in student enrollment and exam attendance in Higher Secondary compared to the previous year. In 2025, a total of 24,250 students enrolled for the HS+2 exams, down from 27,822 in 2024—marking a drop of 12.83 percent.

The number of candidates who actually appeared for the exams even dropped further by 15.16 percent year-on-year.
