Agartala, January 04, 2019:The All India BJP president Amit Shah will arrive in Agartala in a one-day state visit tomorrow and will leave the State on January 06. During his stay in the State, Shah will address a ‘Prishtha Pramukh Sammelon’ at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala tomorrow afternoon. Beside, he will chair several other meetings with BJP bigwigs. Also, a talk with IPFT is on the card. Shah will hold a press conference at 4.30pm at State Guest House in Agartala tomorrow, Party sources said.
Amit Shah’s visit is expected to energize the grass root level workers of BJP – Prishtha Pramukhs ahead of Lok Sabha Polls scheduled to be held in this year. Shah set a target of wining in 21 LS Seats out of total 25 LS Seats from the North Eastern Region and in this context, Shah’s visit assumes a lot of significance.
According to the programme schedule of Amit Shah issued by state BJP unit, the national president will be arriving at 12 noon in MBB airport, Agartala. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and organizational bigwigs will welcome him in airport.
From the airport, Shah will go at Tripureswari temple by helicopter. After offering puja at the temple, he will return to Assam Rifle ground in Agartala at 2pm. From there he will head towards Vivekananda Maidan for addressing Pristhapramukh Sammelon. Around 4,2000 Pristha Pramukhs will attend the rally.
Party sources said, Shah will chair meeting of officer bearers and core committee members of state BJP From 5.30 to 6.30 pm. After the meeting, he will have meeting with council of ministers from 6.30 pm.
Beside, BJP national president will have meeting with IPFT – an ally of BJP. The meeting with IPFT will be significant as IPFT is demanding the East parliamentary seat reserved for ST whereas state BJP unit wants to contest in both the West and East Parliamentary constituencies of the State. A meeting between Shah and IPFT is expected to deal with this issue among subjects, informed sources said.
