January 03, 2018: Assembly elections in Tripura will be held in free and fair manner, assured State BJP president Biplab Deb today in Agartala while addressing a press conference. Replying to a question as to whether BJP would demand to defer elections, he said, “BJP guarantees to people of Tripura that a free and fair poll will be conducted”. After the press conference he took flight to Delhi and will hold meeting tomorrow with the Chief Election Commissioner of India.
Speaking to media persons, Biplab Deb accused of CPIM for killing a BJP worker at Rajnagar in South Tripura district. The deceased – an octogenarian – Amulya Malaker last night. Police sources said, one Gopal Malakar hacked Amulya to death and five other injured. BJP State president Biplab Deb alleged, accused Gopal Malakar is a CPIM supporter and Amulya was murdered to terrorize the BJP in the area.
However, Police and local people claimed that it was not a political murder. Deceased Amulya’s family members too said the same. Speaking to media, Biplab Deb said, CPIM cadres led by the local MLA Sudhan Das coerced the family members to suppressed the truth.
