Agartala, December 24, 2019: Recent Anti-CAA stir not only paralyzed life in Kanchanpur under North Tripura, but also cast deep clouds over ethnic harmony in the whole sub-division. In the backdrop of such precarious socio-ethnic situation, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today visited different areas under Kanchanpur sub-division and interacted with local inhabitants about their problems and local issues. According local people, Deb’s visit will speed up process of confidence building among different communities and give a boost to ongoing peace process.
During his visit to Kanchanpur, Anandabazar etc, the Chief Minister also had a lunch at the house of Run Reang. An overwhelmed Run Reang could not conceal his excitement and said, it is life-time achievement for me.
“No chief minister earlier tried to connect with people in such a way. These visits in the remote parts of the state will help to bridge the gap between common people of remote areas and local administration,” a veteran political analyst told this newsman.

Speaking to media after the visit, the chief minister stressed on peace and harmony between communities. “Kanchapur is an area of mixed population. The cultural harmony between communities is observable and this should be maintained. Peace and harmony are essential conditions of development. Unless the peace is maintained, development of any area can not be ensured” the Chief Minister said.
