Agartala, April 29, 2020: Adopting a guarded approach, Tripura Government is planning to follow a gradual and phase wise exit route to end the lockdown after May 3 next. Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb after chairing an all party meet the Chief Minister said, “The government is now planning how to come out from this situation in phase wise. But, it will take time to completely come out from lockdown,”
“It is not easy to completely come out from the lockdown within a short period. It will take long time as the interstate bus service, air service and train service are non functional,” Deb added. Besides, the government is now focusing on Primary Sectors to strengthen the economy, he said.
Opposition leader Manik Sarkar, taking part in the discussion, said that lockdown was the only weapon to fight against Corona transmission. “The Government will have take a lead role in making people aware about significance of lockdown – all the political parties to work unitedly to battle the virus out. It is also important that Government takes step to start OPD and open private doctors’ Chambers to ensure that people suffering from other ailments get treatment”, Sarkar said.
Congress State president PK Biswas stressed on maintaining social distancing and suggested that there should not be any negligence in ensuring social distancing. He also talked about providing financial assistance to daily wage earners and rickshaw pullers, auto drivers etc.

Among others Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Verma, Education minister Ratanlal Nath, Dr. Ashok Sinha of BJP, Goutam Das of CPI-M and many other leaders from various political parties and high officials were present in the meeting.
In the meeting, Biplab Kumar Deb also focused in details about assistance provided under different schemes to different under privileged sections of society to minimize lockdown related miseries. He also said, GB Hospital in Agartala has already been announced as Covid19 hospital – moreover, Isolation ward will be set up in IGM Hospital soon. “State Government to install two more machines – there are already two machines – in microbiology lab to harness the testing capacity. We have 9090 PPE kit in store”, Deb said.
At the end of meeting, the Chief Minister said he apprised the all party leaders about the steps taken by the state government to deal with the Corona pandemic and providing assistance to the people in need.
