The country wide National Achievement Survey (NAS)-2021 will be held on November 12 next in which over 38,000 students of total 898 schools in Tripura will participate. The Ministry of Education, Government of India conducts the survey. State Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath gave the information to the media in Agartala on Saturday.

 

The Minister said, “A total of 38,760 students of 898 schools in Tripura will take part in the NAS-2021. The survey would be conducted for students of grade 3, 5, 8 and 10”.  He added, while the State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has been assigned to conduct the survey, CBSE selected the schools for the NAS-2021.

 

“Apart from deputing and managing man-power, SCERT has held two mock tests to make the students efficient in using the OMR sheets”, Nath commented.

 

Commenting on preparation, he said, District Education Officers of all the 8 districts in Tripura have been appointed as the District Nodal Officers. Besides, 1979 Field Investigators have been appointed. The Director of the SCERT will function as the State Nodal Officer. Two Additional Directors and two Joint Directors will monitor the 8 districts.

 

The Education Minister told the media, “The Tripura Government conducted a baseline survey on 2019 and introduced ‘Natun Disha’ scheme – the objective of this initiative was to identify the weak learners and to improve their performances. However, owing to the Covid Pandemic, school education suffered a lot and in this context, a national survey was necessary to identify the learning gaps and determine the intervention required”.

 

The National Achievement Survey (NAS) will cover 1,24,000 schools across 733 districts of the country.
