The administration and development have reached the doorstep of citizens now. People need not hold agitations anymore – this is the main between the previous and incumbent Governments, said Assembly Speaker Ratan Chakraborty.

 

He was speaking at the general body meeting of Old Agartala Panchayat Samiti on Friday.

 

Tripura-Assembly-Speaker-Ratan-ChakrabortyChakraborty said, “The State is developing at a faster rate, even Covid Pandemic could not stall the progress of the State. Employees of different Government departments ensured uninterrupted service delivery during the pandemic. The BJP-led government is set to build a ‘new Tripura’ through the developmental works along with the ‘new India’. Along with the other parts of the State, Old Agartala block is also making progress”.

 

The Speaker directed the officials to finish the incomplete works of different welfare schemes. He stressed the need to install street lights in uncovered areas.

 

Officials present in the general body meeting placed status reports of different welfare programmes. Achievements pertaining to the implementation of MNREGA, PMAY, Atal Jal Dhara and other schemes were highlighted in the meeting.

 

Representative of the Old Agartala Block placed the status of project implementation till January 4 last and said, 2 lakhs 13 thousand 291 man-days were created under the MNREGA. Moreover, 1588 houses were distributed under the PMAY.

 

Apart from social welfare-related schemes, the Block also implemented several livelihood generation schemes including Mukhyamantri Swanirbhar Paribar Yojana, Mukhyamantri Pushpa Udyan Scheme  etc. The Block is also implementing, among other schemes, Pradhan Mantri Matru Bandana Yojana and Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Shraddhanjali Yojana.

 

Among others, chairman of Old Agartala Panchayat Samiti Biswajit Shil, SDM of Jirania Jiban Krishna Acharjee and BDO Pamela Saha were present at today’s meeting.
