The nationwide ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh’ event, which commemorates the historic victory in the 1971 War with Pakistan that created an independent Bangladesh, reached Agartala on November 5, 2021 with the Swarnim Vijay Mashal (Victory Flame).

As a Proud Partner in the Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebrations in Tripura, ONGC had the privilege of being a part of the Mashal’s memorable journey through Agartala in what was a perfectly pleasant morning on November 6, where the Flame had a dedicated halt at the ONGC station set up near Heritage Park, a popular haunt among early morning joggers and nature lovers in the city. Before arriving at Heritage Park, the Victory Flame rally was flagged off by the Governor His Excellency Satyadev Narayan Arya from the Albert Ekka War Memorial.

Once at the ONGC halt, the Flame was received with all pomp and ceremonial grandeur by senior officers of Tripura Asset, led by Shri Bhuneswar Baxla, Officiating AM & Head Sub-Surface, and Shri Parmanand Sinha, ASM.While the halt was brief, it was a momentous occasion for ONGC, as the air rang with strong feelings of patriotism, national unity and a deep sense of gratitude toward the enduring and invaluable service of the Armed forces in the rich history of our country. Schoolchildren from local schools were also part of the event, lending the occasion with an air of hopefulness and resolve for a brighter and stronger future of the country.
