State BJP unit condemned the attack on the vehicle of Trinamool Congress (TMC) All India general secretary Abhishek Banerjee and claimed that the party workers were not involved in the incident, said BJP spokesperson and MLA Ratan Chakraborty.
Abhishek Banerjee arrived in Agartala and visited the famous Tripureswari temple. During this journey, some people attacked his vehicle with sticks. However, Banerjee escaped unhurt and his vehicle was also not damaged. Immediately, after the attack, TMC leaders raised the issue and blamed BJP for the attack.
Addressing a press meet in Agartala on Tuesday, Chakraborty said, “In West Bengal, All India BJP president JP Nadda’s vehicle was also attacked. Our party and the government do not support such attacks. It seems that some miscreants attacked TMC leader’s vehicle to malign the BJP”.
He also said, Trinamool leaders of West Bengal are stretching the I-PAC issue and trying to mislead the people of the State.
The MLA rubbished the comment of Abhishek Banerjee’s prevailing democracy in Tripura. Ratan Chakraborty alleged, there is no democracy in West Bengal. He also refuted several other allegations of Banerjee.
In this connection, Chakraborty said, Tripura is fast emerging as a Model State under the leadership of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. The State is making significant progress in railways, roadways, Airways and IT sectors.
Moreover, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Look East’ Policy expedited the development of the whole Northeast region, Chakraborty commented. He also pointed out the success of the State in administering Covid19 vaccines. “In Tripura, 90 percent of the population has been inoculated”, he said.
