Brazil Cultural Festival is planned to be organized at Khumulwng in November next.

 

Speaking at programme, Executive Member of ADC Health and Animal Resource Development department, Kamal Kaloi said, Brazil Cultural Festival will be held aiming to exchange cultural and linguistic traditions.

He said, “In November, the Festival will be held. The prime objective of the Festival is to enrich the traditional cultural heritage. The fest will also ensure exchanging cultural, linguistic and traditional values and ideas.”

 

Kaloi was speaking at the programme held to commemorate the 12th Foundation Day of Tripura Tribal Folk Music College. The programme was organized at Nuai Auditorium in Khumulwng on Friday. The College was upgraded and set up at Khumulwng in 2009.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of TTAADC Jagadish Debbarma reiterated commitment of TIPRA Motha run TTAADC administration to preserve, nurture and develop indigenous culture, customs and heritage.

 

Debbarma also stressed importance of cultural exchanges with other countries. He said, a race flourishes through its culture and customs.

 

In this connection, Jagadish Debbarma hailed the effort of TIPRA Motha chairman and Advisor of Administrative Reforms, Pradyot Kishore Debbarma. The Chairman thanked the ADC administration for taking initiative under the leadership of Pradyot Kishore to start cultural exchange programmes at the International level.

 

In his speech, Chief Executive Member (CEM) Purna Chandra Jamatia detailed the initiatives relating to cultural exchange programmes. He said, ADC administration has taken multiple steps for holistic development of the indigenous communities.

 

In particular for cultural activities, the ADC administration led by Pradyot Kishore held talks with the Ambassadors of Brazil and Israel.  The talks focused on cultural heritage exchange programmes.

 

The CEM also urged the State Government to come up with plans for such exchange programmes.
