During the tenure of those people who are now shedding crocodile tears, 11 activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party were killed in political terror in Tripura. Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said while addressing yet another spectacular joining programme at Gokulnagar under Kamalasagar constituency on Wednesday.

 

As many as 3585 voters from 938 families joined the saffron brigade in the joining rally on Wednesday. BJP state president Dr. Manik Saha and other local leaders were present.

 

Urging people to stay alert against the conspiracy to foment religious animosity, Deb alleged, the communists led by Manik Sarkar had attempted to create riot by instigating the Muslim brothers at Dhanpur. But, no one can cite any instance of communalism during the three and half years tenure of the BJP government.”  

 

Deb referred to killings of 11 BJP Karyakartas ‘by the communists’ in 2017 including Birlal Sarkar of Kamalasagar, Tulu Majuder of Kailashahar, Sunil Deb of Dasda, Gourhari Molsom of Killa, Chanmohan Tripura of Gandacherra and Nishikanta Chakma of Chailengta and said, the party stood by the side of such families and assured earnings for those victim families through proper management..

 

In reference to the political murders, Deb said that the law and order situation had now improved.

 

He said the spontaneous response among the people present in the rally indicated that the government was functioning in the right direction.

 

“There was no hope among the people for around 40 years of communist rule. The people didn’t even have freedom of speech. But, our government is committed to the people and they have expectations from the government,” Deb said.

 

The rally registered a massive gathering; especially the presence of women and youth was noticeable.

 

Referring to this, an overwhelmed Deb said that the presence of so many people indicated that the party base was strengthening further and the public support to the government was increasing.
