With an aim to provide guaranteed job/placement in private startup & Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) to the girls /women /transgender from marginalized families and to impart leadership and English Speaking skills, Tribal Welfare Department, Govt. of Tripura has taken up an initiative to establish full fledged Training Centre in Agartala for a 18-month duration Software Diploma Course.

The Diploma Course has been introduced in Tripura for 150 seated campus for Girls and for Free Job Linked Training in Software Programming in collaboration with NavGurukul Foundation, Haryana.

The initiative has been launched on Wednesday by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and Tribal Welfare Minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia.

NavGurukul is an NGO working towards the financial empowerment of students from under privileged sections of society having its registered office in Gurugram, Haryana and campus in Bengaluru, Kamataka and also Dharamsala.

The Foundation guarantees Job/Placement in private startups & SMEs after the completion of the program with minimum starting pay of Rs.15,000/- per month & Rs.20,000/- per month in Small & big cities respectively.

NavGurukul in collaboration with Tribal Welfare Department has aimed for mobilization of girls throughout the state with at least class 10th pass standard and not aiming at any career oriented higher study etc. The entire program (including fooding, lodging) is fully sponsored by the NavGurukul foundation.  

The Tribal Welfare Department has sent 4 nos of ST Girls for undergoing course at NavGunikul, Bangalore Campus. Total 4184 ST Girls had been registered in the NavGurukul Programme as on date. Out of that, 935 ST Girls have appeared in the screening test and 62 ST Girls have been selected in two phases (First Phase-14 nos., Second Phase-48 nos.).

For the 3rd phase with target of 150 students this Department has obtained NOC from Youth Affairs and Sports Department, Govt. of Tripura for utilizing Shaheed Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel as NavGurukul, Agartala Campus and training will be conducted in batches of 150 each.

The Tribal Welfare Department, Govt. of Tripura also aims to continue the said program by mobilizing more number of girls in the coming years.
