Tripura unit of CPI-M demanded removal of State Food Minister Manoj Kumar Deb blaming him for recent attacks on CPI-M activists in Kamalpur Sub-division.
CPI-M State secretary Gautam Das held the state cabinet minister Manoj Kanti Deb responsible for the attacks on the party workers including the veteran leader Ranjit Ghosh at Kamalpur sub-division and demanded his resignation from the state cabinet.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters CPI-M state secretary Goutam Das alleged, “Food Minister, also the MLA of Kamalpur assembly constituency, Manoj Kanti Deb has been instigating attacks upon our party leaders and workers at Kamalpur.”
Das condemned the attack on veteran Ranjit Ghosh of Kamalpur on August 6 last and alleged, “The BJP goons under the direction of Manoj Kanti Deb are unleashing such attacks at Kamalpur. Our party office was also set ablaze on Saturday night.”
Meanwhile, Das has expressed concern over the role of police administration and alleged, “The attack on our party leader Ranjit Ghosh took place in presence of the police. The police administration has been playing a partisan role and supporting ruling party hooligans. Police are not arresting the miscreants.”
“Since March 2018, a countless number of attacking and vandalizing incidents took place against the opposition, but no action was initiated by the police so far”, said Das.
Condemning the attacks on the Opposition, Das alleged, “A ‘Jungle Raaj’ is prevailing under the regime of BJP-led government in Tripura. People are fed up with the misrule of BJP and have started raising voice against the autocratic government”.
