The State Government has taken initiatives to provide a steady and quality power supply without increasing power tariffs. To this end, the Power department is working in Mission Mode. Deputy Chief Minister who also holds the Power portfolio, Jishnu Dev Varma said after inaugurating 33KV Power Sub-station at Katlamara in Simna on Thursday.

 

The Power sub-station was constructed at an expenditure of Rs 12 crore 40 lakhs under the North East Regional Power System Improvement Project.

 

The Deputy Chief Minister said, “Construction works of the Power sub-station started in 2018. This 33/11 KV, 2 x 5 MVA sub-station at Simna has been constructed to provide a steady and quality power supply in Simna and its adjoining areas.

 

The newly constructed 33 KV sub-station has been connected with the existing 33 KV Hezamara sub-station by the new 33 KV line. This new sub-station will adequately meet up with the present and corresponding future load growth of the area and will benefit around 3,855 consumers with improved voltage profile and enhanced power system reliability in the area”.  

 

This station will enhance the power system at Simna, Brahmakunda, Panchabati, Katlamara, Sidhai and Daigyabari area.

 

He also mentioned works to construct 34 Power sub-station are undergoing and a total of eight power stations, including the Katlamara Sub-station, have already been inaugurated  He expressed hope that works of remaining sub-stations would be completed within December.

 

In today’s inaugural programme, secretary of the Power Department Kiran Gitte, MD of Tripura State Power Corporation Ltd Dr MS Kele, SDM of Mohanpur Subhas Datta, Additional MD of TSECL Ranjan Debbarma were also present.
