A division bench of the High Court of Tripura, comprising Chief Justice AA Kureshi and Justice SG Chatterjee allowed the State Government four weeks time to take steps relating to the regularization of services of the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers.
Important to note that Advocate General Siddhartha Shankar Dey submitted in the High Court that the State Government would not move the Supreme Court with an SLP against the High Court’s February 23 verdict.
In a February 23 verdict, the High Court of Tripura ordered the State Government to regularize the services of the SSA teachers by August 22 last. As the SSA teachers were not regularized on the date, the contempt was filed in the High Court by one of the SSA teachers, Sajal Deb.
In the High Court, the Advocate General submitted that the State government was in consultation with the Central government regarding the formalization of a roadmap for the regularization of the SSA teachers.
Meanwhile, over 5000 SSA teachers in the State are expecting that the State government will regularize them by the next four weeks time period.
