Over Rs 4 lakh collected from Matabari Pranami Box
In presence of the administrative officer, the Pranami Box (Donation box) of Mata Tripureswari Temple was unlocked and cash donated by the devotees, amounting Rs 4 lakh 65 thousand eight hundred ten, was collected. The Pranami Box comes under the control of the Gomati District Administration – hence, the Box was unlocked in the presence of a DCM of the Gomati District, Tanmoy Debnath and Manager of the TempleManik Datta.
Notably, the Pranami Box is opened with an interval of one month and 24 days.
Peace meeting held in Dharmanagar
In an attempt to restore normalcy and maintain communal harmony, Dharmanagar Sub-divisional Administration organized a peace meeting with the representatives of various communities at the conference hall of Kadamtala Panchayat Samiti Office on Friday.
Local representatives, Administrative officials, social workers, and eminent people of various communities took part in the meeting.
To keep the harmony intact, all the representatives decided to spread harmony and a sense of brotherhood among the people of Kadamtala area.
They also decided to form a block-level peace committee. The committee will further organize village-level peace meetings along with the prominent residents of some villages.

Snakebite kills woman
One daily wage earner Sabitri Tanti (40) died of snakebite at Baganbazar area under Kalyanpur Sub-division on Friday night. The deceased was a resident of Baganbazar tea estate area.
She went to the tea garden to attend the nature’s call on Friday night and was bitten by a snake on her leg. The family members brought her to Khowai district hospital immediately. However, she died in the early hours of Saturday. According to her neighbours, Sabitri Tanti used to fend for her family by working as daily wage labour.
