Even as the Leftists in Tripura are gearing up for Bharat Bandh on Monday (September 27), the administration and the ruling BJP-led Government in the State are vehemently opposing the Bandh.
The Samyukta Kishan Morcha has called a Bharat Bandh tomorrow and Left organizations in the State have extended support to the Bandh. However, the State Government has issued a notice directing all the Government and Government Undertaking institutions and Offices to ensure normal functioning
The Bharat Bandh was called to mark the first year of President Ram Nath Kovind giving his assent for the three contentious Farm Laws.
In Tripura, the Left organizations have also included the demand to repeal the Electricity Bill.
The Leftists have organized campaigns, through rallies, public meetings and social media across the State. As the Administration imposed Sec 144 in East and West Police station areas, Leftists refrained from conducting any programme – however, they continued to outreach people and distributed leaflets urging people to support the Bandh and making it a grand success.
Meanwhile, the General Administration Department of the State Government issued a notification and said some political parties have called strike on September 27 next.
The notification directed that all departments under government and Government undertaking institutions would remain open on Monday. Therefore, all the employees of the said departments should remain present at their offices. Strict action would be taken by the government in case of non-compliance of the notification.
The transport department has arranged buses for the convenience of travel and The DG of Police has been instructed to provide necessary security to all the offices, the notification read.
The BJP and its frontal organizations have also stepped forward denouncing the Bandh.
