A man hailing from Pathakawa area of Karimganj district of Assam was allegedly abducted by four miscreants and brought to Tripura on Wednesday and was ‘sold’ to a person at Rs 6 lakh.
However, the man managed to give his abductors and ‘buyer’ a slip and took shelter in RK Pur Police station in Udaipur.
According to the report, the man identified as Siraj Uddin, a mason by profession was reportedly abducted by four miscreants on Wednesday last and brought to Tripura in an Eco Car. Later, speaking to the Police, Siraj alleged he was sold to a person called Shakeel at Rs 6 lakh.
Siraj continued and said, he was first brought to Battala area in Agartala from where he was taken to Rangamati in Sonamura under Sepahijala District and later he was kept at a house in the forest area of Khilpara under Udaipur in Gomati District.
The abducted man however managed to flee from the house after his alleged kidnappers fell asleep on Sunday night and reached Khilpara Bazar. Later, he went to the Radhakishorepur police station with the help of locals.
Siraj alleged he was abducted by one Kukil, Islam Uddin and two others and sold to Shakil. Police are investigating the incident.
Boy arrested over I-day WA status
A boy belonging to minority community was beaten and handed over to police at R.K. Pur Police Station on Monday at Udaipur in allegation of writing ‘Independence’ on national flag of Pakistan at his whatsapp status.
With this picture the boy sent best wishes of Independence Day to a student of class XII. But the ‘post’ sparked resentment among his Whatsapp listed friends listed persons at whatsapp status of the boy as soon as they saw the post.
Immediately the local people detained the boy and beat him in allegation of sending such a post and handed over him to police.
Later police released the accused boy under P.R. Bond. However police started investigation and kept him under strict observation. The incident has created strong resentment among the people of the subdivision.
