Tripura Government is doing praiseworthy works in implementing development projects in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. MoS for Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution; and Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Ashwini Kr Choubey said at State Guest House in Agartala on Friday.
He was speaking at a meeting with Tripura Forest Minister NC Debbarma, Food and PDS Minister Manoj Kanti Deb, Chief Secretary Alok Kumar and other concerned officials. Before taking part in the meeting, Choubey planted a sapling in State Guest House premises. He also met the families of two martyred Foresters and honoured them.
In the meeting, a power point presentation was held through which the Choubey was apprised of several activities undertaken by the State Forest Department and the Food department.
Choubey dwelt on commercialization of valuable timbers like Agar tree. He emphasized some simplifications in existing rules for taking Agar and other valuable timbers out of Tripura for commercialization. He said that his Ministry would also initiate proper steps to this end. He was also informed about activities of the Food Department.
The MoS also inquired about Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY). He commented, “Learned about the implementation of PMKGY. Tripura is doing better in food supply. The state is moving towards a self-reliant Tripura”.
In the programme, The MoS met the family members of two Foresters – Siddharth Banik and Bijan Kumar Bhattacharjee – who made supreme sacrifices for the preservation of Forests and wildlife. He offered condolences to the bereaved families and felicitated the family members of the two martyrs.
MoS Ashwini Choubey visited the Rajbhavan and met Governor Satyadeo Narayan Acharya. Both prayed for a healthy long life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Commemorating Modi’s birthday, both planted saplings of Rudraksha and Agar tree in the Rajbhavan premises today.
