Tripura Unit of NSUI slammed the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) and State Education Minister over the Board examination results. They demanded a probe into an alleged scam relating to the Board exam results and threatened to hold stir across the State.
The TBSE announced Madhyamik results on July 31 in which average pass rate for ‘regular’ students was 80.62 percent. As per earlier, announcement, the TBSE was scheduled to announce results of Higher Secondary exams, as well, on July 31 – however, the Board announced that the results of HS+2 would be declared on Sunday (August 1).
Highlighting these two points, NSUI leader Samrat Roy alleged that there was scam in this case. Speaking to the media, Roy criticized the government as only around 80 percent students were announced ‘pass’ and demanded a probe into the issue.
Roy referred to the CBSE results where more than 99 percent students were declared cleared the Madhymik and said, “NSUI demanded that all students would be promoted as no examinations could be conducted in view of Covid pandemic”.
He also said, students have already started hitting streets and raising voice against the TBSE. Roy pointed out that a group of students blocked the National Highway in this connection after the Madhymik results were declared on yesterday. He said stir will be held across the State to put pressure on the TBSE for promoting all the students to the next higher class.
“We will organize State wide agitation in support of our demand – promotion for all. If CBSE can promote almost all the students, why not TBSE”, he asked.
Meanwhile, he also highlighted the ‘failure’ of the TBSE and the State Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath to comply with the Supreme Court directive of publishing results of both the Madhymik and Higher Secondary examinations within July 31.
