In a bizarre incident, one 37-year old person who was claimed to be fond of playing with snakes died from a snake bite. He was bitten by the snake he was moving around with the venomous snake in his pocket.
The deceased was identified as Mrinmoy Kanti Das. He hailed from Jolaibari under Santirbazar sub-division in Tripura.
According to local people, Mrinmoy Kanti Das had a weird passion – playing with snakes. Even as people and his family members knew about his passion, very few have actually seen him doing his tricks with snakes.
On Friday evening, he went to a nearby ground and found a snake. He grabbed it and put it in his pocket. He was moving around normally with the snake in his pocket. Things went wrong, after he tried to bring the snake out of his pocket – the poisonous snake bite him, sources claimed.
The irony, it may sound, he did not inform his family about the snake bite. At night, his condition started deteriorating – his family members rushed him to Santirbazar District Hospital. Relatives of Das alleged, the doctor who was present at the emergency did not provide proper treatment, so the family members opted to refer him to GB Hospital. However, on the way to GB Hospital, he succumbed.
His body arrived at his native place on Saturday. Mrinmoy Kanti used to run a medical shop and had a business of Cable network. He is survived by his wife and a 5-year old daughter. Pall of gloom descended in the area.
