State Bank of India (SBI) and Tripura Grameen Bank (TGB) organized two separate programmes to provide special benefits to people on the day of Gandhi Jayanti on Saturday. SBI is holding Loan Mela in Agartala while TGB has organized an outreach camp to extend benefits of social security to villagers in Khowai district.
A two-day Mega Loan Mela organized by SBI started at Vivekananda Stadium today. Noted Social activist and Chief Minister’s wife Niti Deb inaugurated the fair. The fair will provide loans with easy installment. The fair will, especially, provide Home Loans and loans for small and medium scale businessmen.
SBI has introduced approval of loans within only 5 days as the demand for home loans has increased recently. Meanwhile, SBI is offering loans to businessmen which would be approved within 59 minutes – that is less than an hour – through a cashless platform system. The facility of loan approval within 59 minutes is also available for different other loans for projects under Central Government.
TGB organized an outreach camp at Santinagar Gram Panchayat under Khowai to mark the Gandhi Jayanti today. Among others, chairman of the Grameen bank Mahendra Mohan Goswami and general manager Shishir Kumar Rohtagi were present in the programme. Goswami encouraged people to avail the banking services.
TGB brought 350 people under the ambit of Social security net in the camp today. Besides, forms were filled up for Pradhanmantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana Suraksha Yojana, Pradhanmantri Suraksha Bima Yojana etc.
A compensation of Rs 2 lakh will be paid to the family members of beneficiaries of Insurance schemes in case of an accidental death. Several people also applied for Atal Pension Yojana. Overdraft facilities for Grameen Bank customers were also provided in the camp.
In both the programmes, presence of common people was noticeable.
