One Fair Price Shop dealer of Chechua under Ampi Nagar Block in Tripura denied delivering ration items to villagers who were not vaccinated against the Covid19.
Irked at the decision, villagers blocked the Ampi-Amarpur Road near Chechua on Saturday.
Concerned Fair Price shop dealer argued he had the instructions from the high ups and accordingly he was asking the villagers to show the Vaccination certificates. However, he could not show relevant documents relating to the ‘instructions’.
The decision of the ration dealer, no matter how much noble it is, has sparked resentment among the villagers.
Protesting against the decision of the Fair Price Dealer, villagers blocked the road throwing vehicular movements out of the gear.
Later, the food inspector along with other concerned officials held talks with the agitating villagers and confirmed that they would, even if un-vaccinated, be allowed to lift ration materials.
However, the officials also tried to dispel the misunderstanding about the vaccine and urged the villagers to get the jab without any further delay.
