The Government has taken initiative to make the auspicious site of Tripureswari Temple as one of the prime spots for spiritual tourism in Tripura. The glory of Maa Tripurasundari is well known worldwide. Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said after inaugurating the two-day Diwali Utsav at Matabari on Thursday.
He offered prayers to Maa Tripurasundari and later took part in Mangal Aarati at the Kalyan Sagar lake. Among others, MoS for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik, Tourism Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Social welfare and social education Minister Santana Chakma, Jail Minister Ram Prasad Pal, MLAs Rampada Jamatia, Subhash Chandra Das and Biplab Kumar Ghosh and secretary of Purvaudaya, an NGO, Niti Deb were present in the programme.
On the second day, Biplab Kumar Deb attended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s virtual address to the Nation from Kedarnath at the Tripureswari Temple in Matabari and felicitated the saints and seers at the temple premises on Friday.
A group of tourist from Gujarat met Deb at the Tripureswari temple today.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “We are bound together through a common thread – culture. Under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it has become possible to integrate our glorious culture with our daily life and social system in modern India”.
Deb also said, “In this matriarchal land, observance of our culture and customs sincerely helped us to end the social degradation and objectionable culture. By ending this women attained an honorable position in the society”.
Tourism Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, MLAs and other dignitaries were present in today’s programme.
