Unity March in Tripura: CM Calls for National Awareness Drive to Strengthen Unity
Agartala, Nov 24: In a powerful appeal to India’s new generation, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday urged the youth to rediscover the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, asserting that greater awareness of national architects is essential to preserve and reinforce the nation’s unity in the decades ahead.
Unity March in Tripura
Flagging off the Sardar@150 Unity March in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s digital memorial square, Saha said young citizens must understand Patel’s decisive role in unifying the nation after Independence—a historic effort that ensured peaceful integration of hundreds of princely states into modern India.
Saha remarked that:
“Youth will gain clarity and direction when they study the leadership of Sardar Patel, who worked relentlessly to build a united India.”
Employment Push in Tripura
Highlighting government achievements, Saha revealed that over 20,000 state government jobs have already been provided in Tripura, and recruitment will continue steadily in the coming months to boost youth development and employment security.
India Observe Nationwide Tribute Events
As the country gears up to mark Patel’s 150th birth anniversary, a series of nationwide programmes—integrating smart city displays, interactive lectures, VR archives and campus debates—has been rolled out to reintroduce the Iron Man of India to the digital-native generation.

From schools to smart colleges, competitive events and cultural activities are being held to revisit Patel’s contributions between 1947 and 1949, a period that shaped the constitutional identity of the Republic.
Warning of Modern Challenges to National Cohesion
The Chief Minister cautioned that while Patel dealt with physical fragmentation post-independence, today’s India faces modern threats—from misinformation networks to digital manipulation aimed at weakening national unity.
He assured that:
“The government is closely monitoring forces working against the nation’s integrity.”
Saha announced that he will leave for Gujarat on Tuesday to join the mega Padayatra.
