Agartala, Aug 4: In a key administrative move, the Tripura government on Monday ordered the transfer of West Tripura Superintendent of Police (SP) Kiran Kumar K., assigning him to Gomati district.
Replacing him, Namit Pathak has been appointed as the new SP of West Tripura. Pathak previously served as SP of Gomati district.
Both Namit Pathak and former Additional SP Souvik Dey had been attached to the police headquarters on June 4 following their controversial involvement during a Youth Tipra Federation (YTF) protest in Gomati district on June 2. The YTF is the youth wing of the regional party Tipra Motha.
In the interim, Sepahijala SP Bijoy Debbarma had been handling additional responsibilities as SP of Gomati district.
According to the latest notification, Souvik Dey has now been posted as Additional SP of the TPCB, while Bijoy Debbarma has been relieved from the additional charge of Gomati SP.
