The Health Department of Tripura will see a significant expansion in technical and administrative manpower with the approval recruitment for total 402 posts. Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury while revealing the decisions of the State Cabinet, announced that the Council of Ministers had approved the creation and filling of 241 Lower Division Clerk (LDC) positions in the Health Department.
In addition to the LDC positions, the cabinet has sanctioned the creation of 161 technical posts across various divisions within the Health Department – totaling recruitment initiatives for total 402 posts in the Health department. Besides, Cabinet also gave its nod for recruitment of 96 posts under the Industry and Commerce department.
Among the 161 posts in 28 categories, eight physiotherapists will be recruited to improve physical rehabilitation services, while 29 radiographers will strengthen diagnostic imaging capabilities. Audiometry technicians, numbering 31, will address hearing-related healthcare needs, and 19 ophthalmic assistants will enhance eye care services and 14 ECG technicians will be recruited to bolster support for cardiac care, ensuring timely and accurate diagnoses.
Other key additions include positions for prosthetic and orthotic technicians (1), speech therapists, and psychiatric social workers (2 each), Dental Technicians and Computer technicians (4 each), Junior Store keepers (9), cataloger (1), Dressers (6), Rehabilitation Assistant (1), Assistants (7), Ward Masters (3), Plaster Technicians (6), Carpenter (1), Library Assistant (1), Junior Librarian (1), Multi Rehabilitation Worker (1), Audiovisual Technicians (2), Photographic Technician (1), TMT Technicians (2), Echocardiography Technician (1), PFT Technicians (2), Documentist (1), Psychiatric Social Workers (2) and Physio Technician (1)
Chowdhury also said, the cabinet has approved the creation and filling of 96 technical positions under the Industry and Commerce Department. The posts include: Extension Officers (6), Field Assistants (38), Senior Instructors (Engineering): 25 positions, Senior Instructors (Non-Engineering): 17 positions, Store Keepers: 4 positions and Drivers: 6 positions.
The cabinet also prioritized expediting the recruitment process for 6,067 Special Executive positions. To make these positions more attractive, the honorarium for these roles has been increased from Rs 11,000 to Rs 13,000.
The decisions highlight the state government’s proactive approach to improving administrative efficiency and service delivery across departments. The newly created positions in various categories under the Health Department and Industry and Commerce Department are expected to address workforce shortages and enhance the overall functionality of key departments, ensuring better service for the public, Chowdhury commented.
