In a bizarre incident, a woman killed her husband and buried the body in bedroom at her residence. The incident took place at Jagabandhu Para under Dhalai district in Tripura. The woman, Bharati Tripura had a troubled relation with her husband Sanjit Reang (30).
Bharati reported to have fatally hit her husband with a spade in his head and she somehow managed to bury the body underneath the muddy surface of her home before fleeing away, police said.
Later, based on a complaint, police rushed to the spot. Following an order of the executive magistrate, Police dug the suspected spot where the body was said to be buried. Once the body was found, hunt was launched for the woman and the accused woman Bharati Tripura was traced in Raisyabari area under the same district.
During the primary interrogation, police said, the accused admitted that she had hit her husband with a spade.
“It seems that Bharati hit her husband in a fit of rage and wounded him fatally. The man succumbed to his injuries in the spot”, Raishyabari SDPO Dasi Ram Reang said and added, the body had been sent for autopsy for detailed investigation.
Neighbours of the couple admitted that Sanjit and Bharati were quarrelling, like other days, on Wednesday over some issues. Amidst screaming and whimpering, it seemed that Sanjit was beating up his wife – however, all chaos stopped suddenly after an eerie scream of Sanjit. Being suspicious, locals informed Police. However, by the time Police reached the spot, Bharati locked the door of their home and ran away.
