Executive committee meeting of BJP underway in Guwahati

In Assam, the Executive committee meeting of the BJP is underway in Guwahati now. Top brass of the Assam BJP unit are participating in the meeting. The meeting assumes significance in the wake of proposed alliance of the party with the Asom Gana Parishad. The Executive committee meeting is expected to discuss the alliance issue among others. On the other hand, the Executive Committee meeting of the Asom Gana Parishad is also being held in Guwahati today. While no formal announcement has been made by any of the parties as of now on alliance, a few district committees of both the parties have already raised objection to probable alliance.
