August 01, 2017: It may sound weird, particularly in the wake of joining spree in favour of BJP – four families have joined Congress in Kailasahar, Tripura. Local sources stated, 16 members of four families today deserted CPIM and joined Congress. Party sources said, PCC general secretary Rudrendru Bhattacharjee received the new entrants and handed over Congress flags to them.
“While Congress supporters and leaders are deserting the Party and embracing saffron Party across the country, joining Congress is certainly an interesting story”, opined a veteran of Kailasahar.
Families of Safar Ali, Masabbir Ali, Sahid Ali and Watir Ali of Noor Pur Gram Panchayat alleged CPIM is involved in massive corruption and has deviated from its core philosophy. “Protesting against misdeeds of the ruling Party, we have decided to quit the Party and join Congress”, said Sahid Ali.
