The award is distinguished by its focus on measurable outcomes, direct beneficiary impact and the promotion of best practices that support inclusive and sustainable growth, making it a highly respected recognition for both government institutions and the corporate sector.
TRLM had nominated Project TRIPTI for the Skoch Awards 2025 in view of its innovative and outcome-driven approach to addressing extreme rural poverty.
The project is currently being implemented under the Innovation Fund of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, in select areas of two districts—Ambassa and Ganganagar RD blocks in Dhalai district, and Dasda RD block in North Tripura district.
Project TRIPTI covers nearly 4,000 of the poorest and most vulnerable rural households through a structured, multi-sectoral Graduation Approach.
The intervention focuses on income generation, livelihood strengthening, financial inclusion, access to social security, nutrition and health support, life skills development and convergence with line departments to ensure holistic and sustainable progress.
A key objective of Project TRIPTI is to reach remote and marginalised communities living beyond the reach of mainstream development programmes.

Through continuous household-level handholding and mentoring, the initiative facilitates access to essential government entitlements while enhancing livelihood capacity, health, nutrition and overall resilience. This sustained support has enabled beneficiary families to move out of extreme distress and progress towards long-term socio-economic stability.
The Skoch Award for Project TRIPTI was conferred after multiple stages of rigorous assessment and evaluation by an expert jury.
The award was formally received on January 10, 2026, by Tarit Kanti Chakma, IAS, Chief Executive Officer of TRLM, on behalf of the Rural Development Department, Government of Tripura, during the Skoch Summit in New Delhi.
According to a press release issued by TRLM, the national recognition underscores the mission’s commitment to inclusive growth, effective governance and transformative rural development, while reinforcing Tripura’s contribution to empowering vulnerable households and advancing the national vision of a developed India.
