NITI Aayog Regional Dialogue on State Support Mission Held in Agartala

Agartala Feb 3: NITI Aayog on Tuesday organised a Regional Dialogue on the State Support Mission in Agartala in partnership with the Tripura Institution for Transformation (TIFT) under the Government of Tripura.

The regional meet brought together representatives from Eastern and North-Eastern states with the objective of strengthening cooperative federalism and promoting outcome-oriented governance.

The dialogue focused on the State Support Mission, a centrally sponsored initiative of NITI Aayog launched in 2022 to enhance the institutional capacities of States and Union Territories.

The mission is aimed at enabling sustained and inclusive socio-economic development in alignment with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

Delivering the keynote address, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha outlined the state government’s vision for achieving a Viksit Rajya.

He emphasised the importance of state-led reforms, citizen-centric governance, efficient last-mile service delivery, and described the State Support Mission as a critical catalyst for collaborative and results-driven federalism.

In a social media post, NITI Aayog wrote, the inaugural session featured addresses by Tripura Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha; Vice Chairman of SETU Aayog, Uttarakhand, Raj Shekhar Joshi; Additional Secretary, NITI Aayog, Rohit Kumar; CEO of TIFT Tripura, Kiran Gitte; and K.S. Rejimon, Joint Secretary and Mission Director of the State Support Mission at NITI Aayog.

 

According to NITI Aayog post, Discussions held during the pre-lunch session centred on strengthening the role of State Institutions for Transformation, leveraging global partnerships for development, and translating cooperative frameworks into measurable outcomes on the ground.
