Tipra Motha Supremo Pushes for Structural Gains

Agartala, Feb 24: Tipra Motha Party founder and MDC Pradyot Kishore Debbarman on Tuesday asserted real empowerment of the TTAADC must go beyond political positions, stressing that roads, land rights and basic infrastructure are more important than ministerial berths.

He said, “My politics is not for votes. My vision for the future is that the children of poor Tiprasa should be the owner class of the state”.

Addressing a party meeting and yarn distribution programme at Pekuarjala, Debbarman said his political mission is not centred on securing posts but on ensuring long-term socio-economic advancement for the Tiprasa community. He stated children from economically weaker Tiprasa families must grow up to become stakeholders and decision-makers in the state.

He maintained that the TTAADC deserves its rightful share of development and constitutional benefits, adding that his party would press the government to deliver essential services and structural guarantees.

According to him, symbolic power without tangible development would not meet the aspirations of the people.

Emphasizing his long-term vision, Pradyot Kishore said his politics is not driven by votes but by the goal of ensuring that children from poor Tiprasa families become the state’s future stakeholders.

Land Rights Under Threat

Debbarman alleged that coordinated attempts are being made to take control of land under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). He specifically referred to areas such as Bishramganj and Kanchanpur, claiming that there are efforts to encroach upon indigenous land.

He urged party workers and community members to remain patient but vigilant. Calling for a strategic and calculated response, he said the community must protect its land and identity through democratic means.

He expressed confidence that the day would come when the Tiprasa community would hold decisive leadership in Agartala and shape the political future of the state.

Appeal for Calm and Unity

In a strong message against internal divisions, Debbarman appealed to the Tiprasa community to maintain unity and composure despite political criticism. He advised supporters not to react aggressively even if leaders from rival parties target him or his organisation.

Without directly naming individuals, he said leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress, and Communist Party of India (Marxist) may intensify outreach among the Tiprasa community during election season, but supporters should avoid confrontation.

He cautioned that political infighting among Tiprasa would weaken the community’s collective strength and damage its public image.

Stressing discipline and maturity, Debbarman reiterated that his politics is guided by long-term vision rather than immediate electoral gains.
