MBB University concludes a 60-hour vocational guidance training programme with a career exhibition. The programme covered general science, quantitative aptitude, and general knowledge. Trainers also guided students on stress management.
Agartala, Mar 13: The Career Counselling and Placement Cell of Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) University organized a Vocational Guidance Training Programme to help students improve their career skills.
The programme ran from November 8, 2025 to February 22, 2026. Classes took place on holidays. In total, the training covered 60 hours.
The programme received financial support from the District Employment Exchange, West Tripura under the Directorate of Employment Services and Manpower Planning of the Government of Tripura.
During the training, students learned several essential skills. Faculty members of the university conducted the sessions. They taught basic grammar, vocabulary, and sentence formation. In addition, they explained letter writing and interview techniques. Students also learned leadership qualities, presentation skills, and telephone etiquette.
Moreover, the programme covered general science, quantitative aptitude, and general knowledge. Trainers also guided students on stress management.
Meanwhile, the university organized a Special Career Exhibition in the Academic Block. The exhibition displayed various government welfare and employment schemes.
Later, the valedictory ceremony of the training programme and the exhibition took place on March 13, 2026. The event began at 12:30 PM in the Dhalai Hall of the university campus. The programme started with the National Song.
Dr. Antiarbum Ranglong, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science, delivered the welcome address. He greeted the dignitaries and participants.
Sreyashi Dutta from the Directorate of Skill Development spoke about several government initiatives. She highlighted skill development programmes in fields such as information technology and machine learning.
Asim Saha, Director of the Directorate of Employment Services and Manpower Planning, also addressed the gathering. He explained the importance of career counselling for young job seekers. Furthermore, he discussed the Agniveer Scheme launched by the Government of India.
Dr. Sumanta Chakrabarti, Registrar of the university, said that MBB University and the Directorate have been organizing such initiatives regularly. According to him, skill development increases employment opportunities. He also reminded students that hard work leads to success.

In his presidential address, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Bibhas Deb encouraged students to stay disciplined and focused. He warned that laziness leads to failure. He also stressed the growing importance of skill-based training, especially in areas related to artificial intelligence. Students, he said, must stay determined and mindful while shaping their future.
Finally, Dr. Anuj Kanchan Datta Roy, Placement Officer, delivered the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
