October 13, 2017: Unabated violence in the State may defer the Assembly Polls and if it happens, the State Government will be held responsible, warned State BJP president Biplab Deb today in Udaipur under Gomati district in Tripura.
Stepping up the pressure on the State Government, he said, “If the State Government fails to rein in pre-poll violence, Assembly Polls might be deferred. The onus will be on the CPIM-led Left Front government in such circumstances”.
He alleged, Violence erupted at Mirza and Tulamura area during voters’ list correction in which 13 BJP workers were injured and among them five persons were referred to GB Hospital. He accused, assaults on BJP supporters by CPIM in Kakraban Assembly constituency area for last two days remain unabated. If ruling party continues to escalate violence and State Government remains mum, the Assembly Polls may be deferred, he commented.
