October 20: The critically injured BSF Commandant Dipak Kumar Mondal who was attacked by smugglers on October 16 along Indo-Bangla border under Soanmura in Tripura succumbed to his injuries today. Mondal who was undergoing treatment at a Kolkata Hospital, died today at around 10.30 am, sources said.
Meanwhile, Police arrested another accused, Rasel Mian yesterday and produced him at Court today. Earlier, Police arrested Mamon Mian – the main accused who hit with his Bolero van Dipak Kumar Mondal injuring the Commandant fatally.
Sources said, two important accused already in the net, other culprits will soon be arrested. At the death of Pall of gloom descended in villages along the Border under Sonamura. Demand for stern action against the culprits has become stronger and closely watching role of Police. Mondal was popular among the villagers for his boldness.
